Burning Question: All About Evie

"It's strange to realize you have sustained yourself on a memory of a person that has become untrue" (5).

Is Evie totally with it or utterly clueless?!

This week’s big query is all about Eveline. Namely, do you think her narration is unrealistic for a senior in high school? Or do you think her language is fitting for an east coaster born and raised within a niche of yuppie friends? Or do you maybe find yourself somewhere in between? Do you love the sounds of her descriptions and read 30 pages at a time? Or do you roll your eyes at every last extended metaphor within a metaphor? Do you adore her free spirit or do you cringe with her every indecision?

We’re excited to hear where you stand on the issue. In fact, we whipped up this handy little poll to keep everything tabulated. But we also want to hear other thoughts you have and get the conversation started -- so send your thoughts this way via the comment button.

(note: poll closes on Saturday, so vote now!)

Decision Made

It looks like we are reading The Accidental Tourist by Anne Tyler for our October meeting! I don't think everyone voted, but it looks like the AT would've been the winner, regardless.

How is everyone liking Anthropology of an American Girl so far?
